Why we are allowed to

Because you asked us to. Signing up for the announcement list is a request to hear from us: we write it down at the moment you make it, and we send you one email straight away so you know it worked. Writing to us is a request for an answer, and your address is how we give you one. Emailing us does not put you on the announcement list. If you want to be on it, you have to ask.

Where it is stored

Our announcement list runs on Resend, which stores your address and sends the emails on our behalf. Resend publishes the terms it handles that data under in its data processing agreement. Every signup is also emailed to the people who run the festival, so somebody knows you joined, and your address sits in their mail the way any message does. An address you email us from sits in that mailbox too, next to your message.

Getting off the list

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and if your mail app shows its own unsubscribe button, that works too. Either one takes you off the list straight away, with nothing else to click and nobody to wait for. You can also reply to any email, or write to info@pelhamfringe.org, and a person will do it by hand. Pelham Fringe is volunteers and one mailbox that gets read.

The Meta pixel

This website uses a Meta pixel, which tells Meta about your visit, including the pages you open and any Tickets link you click. Meta uses that, and what it collects on other websites, to measure our ads and to choose who sees them.

The pixel sets 90-day cookies named _fbp and, if you came from one of our ads, _fbc. It also stores a note in your browser of how you arrived. Meta may keep what it receives for up to two years, and any audience we build from it until we delete it. It does not collect your email address.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not load the pixel. You can also turn it off in this browser, together with Google Analytics, under Tracking choices. To change how Meta uses this activity to choose your ads, use Meta’s Activity from other businesses setting or the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page.

Google Analytics

This website also uses Google Analytics. It helps us analyze user activity: pages you open, how long you stay, actions like clicking a ticket link, your type of device and browser, and your nearest city. It does not record your email address or your name, and it does not tell us who you are.

Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_NJEZ4JVVZQ, which last up to two years, so it can tell a returning browser from a new one. Google deletes the detailed records after 14 months. Google handles what it receives as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not load Google Analytics. You can also turn off tracking under Tracking choices (below).

Tracking choices

This website uses two trackers, the Meta pixel and Google Analytics, both described above. You can turn them off in this browser. Turning them off also deletes the cookies and notes they have stored here.

We remember your choice in this browser. Clearing this site’s data in your browser resets it, and Safari may forget it if you do not visit for a week.
